OLIVIA LOEFFLER
about
Olivia Loeffler is a multimedia artist from Louisville, Kentucky. Olivia's interests are broad and span from sustainable architecture and fiber arts, to posthumanism and systems thinking. Olivia weaves her technical skills with academic rigor and research that results in work that pushes boundaries while being fortified by genuine interdisciplinary thought. In Loeffler’s work, every step in the process is an integral facet -- even the tedious steps such as picking burs out of wool; sourcing and planning exterior cladding to find a balance between cost, waste, and end product; prototyping algae and honey hydrogels in her home oven, and making spreadsheets on spreadsheets on spreadsheets. Her determination to understand every part becomes integral to the outcome. Olivia Loeffler’s work is meticulous and purposeful, because she understands every step of the process that created it.
